They’re easy to make and package. Part of the flavor enhancement occurs when the dressing soaks into the roll.
Get a pound of your favorite thin-sliced ham. Get another pound of thin-sliced baby Swiss Cheese. Grab a package of Pepperidge Farms tiny hard rolls.
You’ll also need some Italian salad dressing. My favorite is to by Good Seasons in a package. Mix it in a jar per the instructions.
Slice the rolls down the middle. Sprinkle the dressing on the insides of the rolls. Fold over two slices of ham and two of Swiss and close it up. Slide it into a baggie.
When you open the package at the game or hike, the Italian smell will come out. The first bite will provide you the taste of the outdoors and you will inhale the tiny sandwich, wanting at least two more to complement your beverage.
For maximum texture, toast the rolls before putting the salad dressing on. I don’t know why, but for some reason that makes it taste even better.
