Don’t do this. It makes it flavorless. This surprised us.
You would think that making the meat loaf with all the same ingredients (onions, an egg, bread crumbs, garlic, cheese, a pepper if you want to get outrageous) would retain some of the same flavor, regardless of the type of meat inside. It’s not the case.
In fact, in Deb’s typical meat loaf, she puts pork or turkey in it upon occasion to change it up, and those versions are still tasty. But this last time, we can only advise you to avoid the turkey-pork version because it is so bland.
If you can come up with another way to add flavor, let us know. We’re willing to give it a try.
