Tim's Ice Cream Sandwich Cake

I’m really winging it on this one, but it sounded pretty simple from a long-time friend of mine, so here goes.  We played golf with him this past weekend, and stopped over at his house afterwards to catch up on the old and new times.  He grilled some perfect burgers and brats, then brought out the dessert.

We’ll call it “Tim’s Ice Cream Sandwich Cake.”  The core ingredient is a box of ice cream sandwiches, which you layer in a 9-12 inch pan.  Cover them with a thick layer of Cool Whip.  Then spread broken Heath Bar crunch bits on top.  You should be able to find this in the store already in a package, he told us.

Put it in the freezer.  Your guess is as good as mine as to how long, but I imagine a couple of hours is fine.  Serve cold.  Cut it like you would brownies.  Try having just one slice.  If you can stop yourself from eating two squares, you probably made it wrong.

It will bring back memories for you like it did for us.

You can layer it to 2 sandwiches deep and put cool whip and health bar nuggets between the layers as well and make it really amazing.

That makes it sound even better. Then everyone has to have three slices instead of two.
